        Absence of light
    Featureless faces converse
        Uttering a static din
Of conversation
    Pointless
        Vapid
    Idealistic
        Empty words

Unaware and unwitting
        Of their mortality
Their human shapes
    Shift and manifest
As though their
        Existence
Has any meaning

    Animated corpses drift
Through days and nights
Struggling against reality
Only to die

Already dead
They try …
