Waiting Lost
30-10-97
Like an empty vase waiting for water
So its flowers may once again
Flourish and bloom
Like a dog waiting for his master
To bring him a bone in reward
For his loyalty
Like a hungry stomach waiting for a
Meal to fulfill its appetite
Like a piano waiting for melody
To grace its strings
In symphony and glory
Like an accident waiting to happen
Like two countries on the
Verge of war
Like dreams waiting to be
Shattered and
Hearts to be broken
I sit here waiting for Her…
… the dog remains alone,
The stomach empty,
The piano silent --
Gathering dust
The accident happens and
The war breaks out
Dreams are shattered and
Hearts are broken
And the flowers
In the vase
Slowly
Wilt.
